much of my life these days is about living as cheaply as possible (damn unpaid internships), which normally means lots of cereal (not so bad since i'm mildly obsessed with the store brand chocolate muesli), sandwiches (again, not so bad, baguettttttttttte!), and cheap wine (riddle me this: in paris, a good bottle of wine is cheaper than a bottle of diet coke. yeah, i don't get it either.)
ok, so on the whole, trying to live cheaply in paris can still be pretty delicious (only problem: i can't afford a seat at an actual restaurant. i will be doing a lot of my eating on park benches). but just yesterday, i got to add some of my fav cultural things to my cheapy cheap lifestyle:
1. amc is streaming the season 1 pilot of mad men ("smoke gets in your eyes"). WATCH IT. it's amazing. season three starts soon, so get caught up fast.
2. fanfarlo, a great little band out of the uk, has their full album available for download for just $1 until july 4th. they kind of sound like a more accessible, poppy version of beirut and i love it.
you can listen to a bunch of songs and watch some videos (and download the album) on their website.
