it's a tragic circumstance that i've seen far too often in these dark days. people that i know and love, people who have otherwise fantastic cultural tastes -- people who have never seen the wonderful & amazing sports night.
it's one of my favorite tv shows ever to be tv-ed, and i just found out that it's on youtube, parceled out into 3 parts per episode. a thrilling discovery made while i was poking around for something to watch before bed that i wouldn't need to translate.
written by aaron sorkin, on abc for only two seasons in the late 1990s, and it's super smart and funny as hell.
[mini disclaimer: give the show a chance -- the pilot is a little rough at times and abc apparently insisted on including a really annoying laugh track, but it goes away after a few episodes]
